So you've been wondering what happened to Station 19, and if it's ever coming back.
Answer from Carina:
Good news! Your favorite medical drama/guilty TV pleasure, Station 19, returns on Thursday March 14th, 2024 at 10pm/9pm central. for Season 7. It's going to run 10 episodes for it's final season. The show will also reach it's 100th episode milestone and reportedly will feature a huge crossover with Grey's Anatomy.
Did you say 10 episodes? Final season?
Yes, I did. Because of the Writers and Actors strikes of 2023 delayed writing and filming. ABC has stated this is the final season, and moved the show from it's previous 8pm time-slot before Grey's Anatomy, effectively ending the cross-over era of patients appearing at Station 19 and logically appearing in the next episode in Grey's.
Why cancel the show? Isn't it doing great? I love Andy/Travis/Vic/etc!
I'll post about this in more detail later, but the most likely main contributer is ABC acquiring 9-1-1 from Fox. Unlike Grey's Anatomy, Station 19 has struggle to maintain streaming numbers, and 9-1-1- is pretty much another firefighter/EMS show with a steady following. Thursday night doesn't need two firefighter shows long term, and 9-1-1 doesn't need Grey's the way Station 19 does.
Can you tell me any good news about Station 19?
In addition to reaching the 100th episode, based on the trailer, Andy is finally going to be captain of 19. It looks like Vic and Theo broke up, which for everyone who hated him, is good news. If Hollywood gossip is your thing, Jaina Lee Ortiz (Andy Herrera) and Jay Hayden (Travis Montgomery) are a couple, as are Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) and Danielle Savre (Maya Bishop).
Wow, that is like Grey's Anatomy/Station 19. Weren't all those people married?
Everyone except Danielle was. Jaina divorced around 2019, Jay divored around 2020. Kevin has been divorced twice - 2017 and 2023. Danielle has never been married, but she is 15 years younger than Kevin McKidd and she and Jaina Lee Ortiz had a very public internet beef a few years back.
Hard to answer if they're okay now. They were almost standing near each other that the 100 episode celebration, and they even brought back the exiled creator Stacey McKee.
But if they cancel the show, where will I get my sexy drama?
